Service with the Koninklijke Luchtmacht

Hunter QA12 was originally built as an F Mark 6 by Fokker in Amsterdam in 1957 as construction number 8850. The aircraft was delivered to the Koninklijke Luchtmacht (Royal Netherlands Air Force) and allocated the serial number 3P-22 then later N-222. Detailed Koninklijke Luchtmacht history is as follows.
8th Feb 1958 - Registered with the "luchtvaart register" as aircraft number 492.
18th Feb 1958 - Delivered to 324 Squadron at Leeuwarden Air Base (and assigned tactical code "3P-22").
6th Mar 1958 - Incident: after 6.06 flying hours suffered landing accident - pilot Brouwers. Aircraft veered off runway sustaining Category 1 damage, i.e. repairable on-site by first-line maintenance personnel.
8th Aug 1958 - Incident: hood partly detached shortly after take-off from Leeuwarden - pilot van de Veen. Landed safely.
14th Nov 1958 - Incident: pilot van Leersum. (awaiting further details)
1959 - New registration applied, "N-222".
21st July 1960 - Incident: pilot Konijnenberg. (awaiting further details)
6th Apr 1961 - Delivered to 325 Squadron at Soesterberg AB.
Jun 1961 - Moved briefly to 326 Squadron.
25th Aug 1961 - Removed from squadron for major service. IRAN - Inspect and Repair as Necessary.
23rd Mar 1962 - Delivered to 322 Squadron and shipped to Mokmer, Dutch New Guinea in support of the Dutch/Indonesian conflict.
25th May 1962 - Arrival at Mokmer Airfield, Biak, New Guinea.

31st Oct 1962 - Shipped back to Netherlands aboard m.s. Marne Lloyd.
18th Feb 1963 - Moved from Soesterberg by road to Avio-Diepen for overhaul.
1st July 1963 - Returned to 324 Squadron following overhaul.
8th July 1963 - Incident: struck in nose area by own cannon shell ricochet during air-to-ground firing exercise at Terschelling range - pilot Wieringa.
7th Apr 1964 - Delivered to 325 Squadron, Soesterberg.
22nd May 1964 - 575.0 flying hours logged.
27th May 1964 - Delivered to Leeuwarden Target Towing Flight.
28th Sep 1964 - Returned to 325 Squadron, Soesterberg.
29th Dec 1964 - Incident: pilot L. Beers. (awaiting further details)
10th Mar 1967 - Removed from squadron for major service. IRAN - Inspect and Repair as Necessary.
3rd Oct 1967 - Delivered to 325 Squadron, Soesterberg.
13th Aug 1968 - Withdrawn from service and sold to Hawker Siddeley Aviation. 1354.56 flying hours logged.
