Delivery to Qatar

On 8th December 1971, following a period of storage at the former RAF Holme-on-Spalding-Moor airfield (then owned by  Hawker Siddeley) QA12 and T.79 trainer QA13 were delivered to the Qatar Emiri Air Force at Doha Airport, Qatar. An overnight stop was made during the ferry flight at Luqa, Malta - see photo above.

The remaining two Hunter FGA.78s, QA10 and QA11, followed twelve days later on 20th December 1971.
